Refectory

Situated on the west side of the quadrangle facing the Vennel, the school dining room or refectory contained half a dozen highly polished tables set out in two rows flanked on either side by wooden forms. A massive stone fireplace stood at either end of the hall and gilt-framed portraits of the famous men who had been connected with the school lined the walls.
